I wonder when it will be possible to order the outdoor version of Telraam S2?

We don’t have a date for individual sales at the moment.
The Outdoor version of the S2 is still going through field testing by us and by selected clients in a number of countries. We need to ensure that the device is performing as expected and to get experience of the issues around outdoor data gathering which is still relatively new to us.
We don’t want to be selling a device that is not ready for you to deploy.
However, I can say that we have quite a few devices now in operation or about to be deployed, so we are getting a great deal of feedback and data and so we hope it will not be too long, but it is unlikely to be this calendar year as far as individual sales are concerned.

I have gone in every 14th days or so to check if the Outdoor variant will be available. Before it was stated that the outdoor would be almost the same pricing as the indoor device (i.e 200€ and no subscription). I just wanted to tell you that i am a little disappointed that the price went up to 500€ + subscription. I was set to buy one, really looking forward to it, but at that price i am sorry to say, i will not. I will how ever still check in from time to time and hopefully there will soon be a more private customer friendly solution for outdoor use.

I’m sorry that the Telraam S2 Outdoor is still not available for purchase for individuals. We have a commercially-ready version which is available to certain professional customers who are able to manage the necessary installation, testing and support required for a product that is still in an early stage. Even now we are still working on design changes based on feedback and the experience we are getting.
However, I don’t think we’ve ever said that it would be the same price as the indoor Telraam S2 and it would always have required a subscription. I’m sorry if that was not clear.
The Telraam S2 Outdoor is based on the same components as the indoor version, but the need for a more hard-wearing and weather-proof enclosure was always going to mean it would cost more, but we didn’t know the price until we had got this into production. The current price is, in part, because we are having to make these in very small batches. In time, that differential might change, but that may take some time so we cannot say what might happen there.
As for the subscription, as we have mentioned previously, we are able to offer the ‘free’ subscription for Telraam S2 devices to individual campaigners only because this is subsidised by our professional clients whose networks are also funding the support infrastructure, API development, product research and testing, etc. The outdoor device is a more specialist tool and therefore we require it do have this subscription included.
