I think you might run in to the same issue as what I encountered. My original board was a '19 and the newer one a '22.

My telraam v1 recently died. I noticed it right after a lightning storm, so I assume this had something to do with it. The device is located outside. I ordered a new pi3 A+ and assumed that it would be a simple swap of the board but it turned out differently. I kept the SD card and used this with the new board.
